History
We were started in 1997 by a group of volunteers in Minnesota and a young man from New York state who moved to Haiti eight years earlier, when he was 23 years old, and stayed to make a difference. Beginning with just one half-time employee in Haiti, Haiti Outreach now has 26 employees, 24 of which live there. Since then, we raised almost $5 million to work with the people of Haiti to create sustainable projects that improve their lives. Because our board of directors make donations that cover most of our administrative and fundraising expenses, 95 – 100% of all other contributions go directly for our community development programs in Haiti.
