Four new communities celebrated the inaugurations of their new community managed clean water well in the month of August. That brings the total of community wells established by Haiti Outreach and our partnering communities in 2017 up to 23!
The four communities that gained sustainable access to a community managed clean water are:
- community of Fay, in the commune of Trou du Nord
- community of Savann Pòm, in the commune of Trou du Nord
- community of Bouchro, in the commune of Trou du Nord
- community of Lamatri, in the commune of Ouanaminthe
At the inauguration celebration, these four communities and their elected volunteer management committee members were handed the key for the well house, assuming the responsibility to keep the well functioning and maintain the rules that they established for the well – such as collection of monthly subscription fees and all users must bring a clean bucket to the well.
Congrats to these four communities! Your hard work has been rewarded!
