Adopt-a-Well Goal Achieved! Well Inaugurated!
Congratulations to the Students at Beacon Academy!
The students at Beacon Academy in Evanston, IL met and exceeded their goal, which was to raise $15,000 for their own Haiti Outreach Adopt-a-Well Project! At last count they raised $17,481.43, with more money due to come in, providing a Haitian community in need of clean water with their own community managed well!
Starting in September 2017, students held 6 “water walks”, every Wednesday over the course of six weeks. Their goal was to educate the Beacon Academy student body and their local Evanston (IL) community on the daily struggles of many rural Haitians to get water, as well as to raise funds in support of their Adopt-a-Well community.
Not only did the Beacon students raise the funds for their Adopt-a-Well, some of them traveled to Haiti, along with a few adults, from October 23 – 29 to help prepare and then attend the inauguration of the well they funded!
Congratulations to the Beacon Academy students, parents, faculty and friends for making an incredible difference in the lives of over 300 people in the community of Trois Bois Pin!!
