We’d like you to meet Dale Snyder. He is a founder and the Executive Director of Haiti Outreach and works mostly in the administrative office in Minnetonka, MN. He travels to Haiti at least 5 times a year.
Dale has been involved in Haiti since 1990 and visited there well over fifty times. He and other volunteers founded a nonprofit organization that initially helped support a school lunch program at a school in the town of Plaisance. This organization was renamed and reorganized in 1997 as Haiti Outreach, as he and other Minnesota people involved in Haiti looked to see how to have a more sustainable impact with their assistance. Dale was on the Haiti Outreach board of directors until he took the position of Executive Director in 2002. In this role, he has responsibility for many areas, including finance and accounting, development, fundraising and purchasing. He also leads trips to Haiti, which allows him to share with others his passion for the work that Haiti Outreach does to help Haiti become a developed country.
Dale is originally from Akron, Ohio. He has an MBA from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Business. Dale worked mostly in the hardwood lumber, furniture manufacturing and cabinet industry for twenty years. He had a variety of different experiences during this time, from sales and marketing, to operations, accounting and computers. He eventually became the owner of a commercial cabinet shop. Dale was also a campaign manager for former MN Congressman David Minge.
Dale lives in Minneapolis, MN and is a member of the Minneapolis Uptown Rotary Club. He has 2 adult children, a son-in-law flying helicopters in the Navy, and one grandchild.
