Rose-Carmelle is a woman who embodies serene wisdom and keen instincts. She is a single 32 year old woman who resides in the town of Pignon. Life has not always been easy for her. She and her 5 siblings (3 sisters and two brothers) were orphaned as children when both their parents passed away. Growing up without parents has pushed her to become incredibly resilient and resourceful. She has found strength in her faith as an active member of the Jehovah’s Witness church.
In 2012, she was employed by Haiti Outreach. She began working for us as an animator to guide communities to create their well management plans. She has proven to be so influential in collaborating with the communities and in her interactions with our staff that she was promoted to manager and eventually to a team supervisor that helps develop and manage our municipal action plan. She has consistently proven herself to be a reliable team player and incredibly bright. She enjoys her work, and shared, “I am very happy because my work allows me to help thousands of people to change their lives thanks to the transformation [they undergo] through our programs.”
She didn’t originally start for the intrinsic benefits of her role at Haiti Outreach. She began working with us to afford college and to support her siblings financially. She shared, “My goal was to earn money for college and help my brothers and sisters find daily bread.”
While she is deeply respected by her colleagues and very skilled at her job, she has other strengths and dreams she intends to pursue as well. She plans to start a small business very soon and will apply much of what she has learned about organization and management at Haiti Outreach to her new role. Rose-Carmelle has proven to be very competent in whatever she does, and we are very proud of her accomplishments and contributions to our organization.
