*** Due to the current political and social insecurity in Haiti, we are not currently accepting applications to go on Trips to Haiti. Once it is safe to do so, we would love for you experience Haiti with us!
Haiti Outreach welcomes travelers to Pignon, the working base of Haiti Outreach. Most of our trips are a combination of experiencing the Haitian culture, seeing community development sites, and possibly participating in a work project, such as helping to build the concrete block well housing, painting, etc. No particular skills are needed by travelers to do the work projects.
These trips are often described as life-changing. Travelers find a new understanding and appreciation for people of other cultures who often struggle daily to find enough clean water to drink, food to eat, and employment. We invite you to visit us and see firsthand how we are making an incredible, even revolutionary difference in a place where real progress has been so difficult to achieve.
Haiti Outreach has built a guest house to more easily accommodate the increasing number of visitors. This is where our groups stay while in Pignon.
It is not required, but traveling groups, especially groups that are all from one organization, might choose to generate the funds for the project materials. Building the well housing, for example, costs $2,000, and if the group raised that money, it would make the Haiti Outreach donated money go that much further.
