What do I need to bring with me on my trip?

How will I communicate with the people there?
Haitians have two official language – Haitian Creole and French – with most Haitians speaking Creole. Most of the time we will have someone with us that speaks English and Creole, but the Haitians would be pleasantly surprised if you came prepared with a Creole words. What is Haiti’s story?
We have heard the phrase “Those who don’t know history are destined to repeat it.” This definitely applies to Haiti Outreach’s work to help Haiti become a more developed country. If we do not understand their history, where these people came from and the challenges that they have endured, we will neither be able to understand their situation today nor be able to generate the most appropriate programs to work with them. What should I expect when staying at the Guest House?
