Quartier Ba Mache is a community located in the rural commune of Pignon. Vaison Lefrot is one of the members of the water well management committee set up by Haiti Outreach in his community. In addition to his work on the water management committee, he is also a hard working entrepreneur, employee and father of two young girls.
Due to financial difficulties, he was unable to continue his education past middle school. Despite his lack of education, he has built a small business selling soft drinks and other items needed for cooking. The 25 year old father is the sole breadwinner of his family. He shared, “I have two children who do not live under the same roof as me. My business brings little profit. But I do everything I can to support my family. ” Despite his diligent efforts, his profits remain meager. To earn more money, Vaison works at the local distillery to earn more income for his daughters.
His commitment to his work and family is also strong in his service on the well management committee. He consistently ensures that the well is well maintained and that each member of the community uses it with respect.
Calm by nature and highly respected in his community, Vaison is able to solve problems without conflict. He is friendly, kind, and knows how to approach people. Between his business, working at the distillery, and his seat on the water management committee, Vaison tirelessly cares for and serves all those around him.
