Minnetonka Middle School East Water Walk

Help Minnetonka Middle School East 6th Graders Adopt-a-Well in Haiti!

Water Walk - Friday, May 10th, 2024

Minnetonka Middle School East 6th graders are doing a Global Studies unit on the Water Crisis. Students have learned about fresh water shortages throughout the world, causes and solutions to fresh water crises, and the effects water shortages have on an individual, family, community, and beyond. MME’s goal is to raise awareness about the world around us and foster citizenship amongst students. Students are taking action in an effort to spread the word and make a difference. They have been doing this since 2011! See more here.

For 2024, 6th grade students have “adopted” the community of Makrapo, in the commune of Cavaillon in the southern peninsula of Haiti and have a goal to raise $25,000 to build them a well that will provide the community with clean, safe water.

This year’s MME Water Walk for Haiti is Friday, May 10th, 2024 from 11:00am-2:00pm. Students will be outside walking or running laps to earn money from sponsorships and hosting booths where they will be selling handmade goods and items. Please consider volunteering for this fun-filled event. Contact Ms. Macdougal or Mr. Leland.

Tax deductible donations can be in the form of cash, checks made out to Haiti Outreach, or made directly online below and select the MME Water Walk 2024 Fund in the drop down menu. Thanks so much for your support and generosity!
